Meet Bailey
Owner and Clinical Director
Bailey was born and raised in Southeast Texas. Her older sister has Down syndrome, which inspired her to want to work with people with special needs. During college, Bailey learned of the field of occupational therapy and knew it was exactly what she wanted to do.
Bailey completed her Master of Occupational Therapy at UTMB in Galveston, Texas in 2017. She has spent her career providing therapy to kids, adolescents, and adults in the Greater Houston area and in Austin.
Bailey has received advanced trainings and mentorship in the areas of neurodiversity, gestalt language processing, sensory processing, interoception, self-regulation, ADHD management, and trauma-informed care.
Bailey is passionate about providing therapy that is neurodiversity-affirming and rooted in nervous system and sensory regulation principles.
Outside of work, Bailey enjoys hiking, bike riding, thrifting, travelling, trying new restaurants, reading, and snuggling with her pups.
FAQs
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy is a holistic healthcare service that aims to help people of all ages live life to the fullest. In this type of therapy, “occupations” (i.e., everyday life activities that are purposeful and meaningful) are used to enable and enhance client participation in their roles, habits, and routines in the home, school, workplace, and community. Occupational therapists are specially trained to take into consideration client factors and skills (i.e., motor skills, sensory/processing skills, and social interaction skills). It is truly a blend of art and science woven together to help people of all ages participate more fully in their lives.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! Glimmer Project is in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. For all other insurance plans, we can provide a detailed superbill that can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We also offer competitive out-of-pocket rates for those who are not using insurance.
What makes Glimmer Project different from other OT providers?
We like to say that if you’ve worked with one OT, you’ve worked with one OT. Every OT provider brings their own background, experience, and methodologies to the table. At Glimmer Project, we specialize in providing OT services that are neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed. Our goal is to help folks understand their unique sensory processing and regulation needs and preferences.
How do I become a client?
Reach out to us via the contact page to get connected! The new client onboarding process consists of a complimentary 15 minute phone call with Bailey to determine if this is a good fit, in-house insurance verification (if using), intake forms/documents, and scheduling the first appointment.
Is a medical diagnosis needed to work with an occupational therapist?
Nope! If you are interested in increasing your own or your child’s participation and/or performance in day-to-day life, an occupational therapist may be able to help. Just FYI though, some insurance plans require a referral from a primary care provider to begin working with an OT provider.
What if I want support but can’t commit to recurring appointments?
We get it — therapy of any kind is a time and financial commitment. If recurring appointments don’t work for you or your family right now, a phone consultation might be able to help in the meantime. These are pretty open-ended and can be used to ask your questions, discuss your needs, and identify possible supports. Reach out to us via the contact page to set one up.
